Part A: Tourist Visa
Tourist Visas are issued to people wishing to travel to Iran on holiday or to visit friends or relatives for a period of up to one month.
Part B: Transit Visa
Transit Visas are issued to people wishing to travel overland across Iran, entering from one border crossing (usually from Turkey) and leaving via another border crossing (usually Pakistan). Transit visitors must complete their journey across Iran in five days or less. They must also posses a valid visa for the country they wish to travel to after Iran.
Part C: Pilgrimage (Zyarat) Visa
Pilgrimage visas are issued to people wishing to stay in Iran for up to one month for the purpose of visiting Islamic shrines and holy places. Applicants are also required to provide a letter of introduction signed by the head of an Islamic centre.
Part D: Business Visa
Business Visas are issued to people who wish to travel to Iran on business. It is usually valid for up to one month. Commercial visitors to Iran must obtain an invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Iran. The letter is then presented to the Foreign Ministry in Tehran for approval. Once authorised, the sponsoring company can obtain a reference number, which is then conveyed to the applicant. Allow five working days before contacting the consulate in London by telephone for confirmation quoting the reference number. Once confirmed, the documents can be submitted to the Consular section for their further action.
Part D: Vaccination
No vaccination is needed to enter Iran.
Part E: Visa for husband of Iranian wife
1 - Should your spouse wish to visit Iran, provided your marriage has been registered at this consulate and on producing a marriage certificate, application can be made to this office in person without the need for an invitation by relatives in Tehran. A visa will be issued after two days provided the documents are in order.
2 - For the children of those Iranian women who are married to foreign nationals and who are in possession of passports other than Iranian, a visa can be issued on submitting a full birth certificate in addition to other required documents.
