He told reporters that all measures taken by Iran during the past two decades were in line with establishment of durable peace, stability and security in the entire region.
The Islamic Republic of Iran's policies of detente and dialogue among civilizations as well as the country's defense diplomacy also aim at preserving global peace, the minister added.
Shamkhani further reiterated that the Islamic Iran has established friendly ties with all countries, particularly the regional states.
Touching upon presence of foreign forces in the region, he stressed that Iran is against presence of any extraterritorial powers in the region.
Admiral Shamkhani arrived in this central province on Monday to visit the provincial defense industries centers.
Meanwhile, Shamkhani on Sunday rejected recent Israeli claims that it had intercepted a ship carrying Iranian arms for Palestinian fighters.
"This claim is like a play, staged by the racist Israeli regime, which lacks evidence," he said, adding "Iran has played no role in this drama.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has had no military relations with (Palestinian head) Yasser Arafat and no steps have been taken by any Iranian organization for the shipment of arms to the mentioned lands," Shamkhani added.
The Israeli regime, he said, was trying to portray Iran as "a permanent threat" in the eyes of Americans through its propaganda means and influence in the United States.
The Israeli regime claimed recently that it had intercepted a ship, transporting 50 tons of weapons which it said had been shipped from Iran to Palestine.
The Islamic Republic refuted the claim as 'sheer lie' and a 'desperate propaganda campaign'.
The Iranian defense minister further dubbed reports on alleged Tehran's support for the terrorist Al-Qaeda group as 'mere speculations' and 'baseless'.
"The publication of these claims indicates the influence of the Zionists in the dissemination of the news which is produced in favor of the Zionist lobby and to the detriment of the interests of American nation and regional peace and stability," he said.
US President George W. Bush was quoted as saying last Thursday that "Iran, which gave the United States positive signals of cooperation early on, must not allow Al-Qaeda murderers to hide in that country and must hand over any who has already slipped across the Iranian border."
The Islamic Republic rejected this claim as well as the other that Tehran was seeking to destabilize the interim Afghan government.
