Iranian, Afghan foreign ministers meet in Tehran 

 
     
 

  Tehran, Nov 22, IRNA -- Iran's Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi met and conferred with his Afghan counterpart Abdullah Abdullah Wednesday evening in Tehran.

    
 


    The two Islamic neighboring countries' top diplomats exchanged viewpoints on the latest regional developments, particularly on the prevailing conditions in Afghanistan. 
    Abdullah expressed delight over the recent nationwide uprising of the Afghan nation, which in many areas led to blood-less ousting of the Taliban militants. 
    He also announced the United Islamic Front's strong will to stick policies ensuring lenience, forgiving, and refraining form resorting to harsh policies in shaping Afghanistan's future socio-political atmosphere. 
    The Afghan foreign minister emphasized it is necessary to establish a broad-based Afghan government comprising of all Afghan political parties and tribes. He asked for the vast global cooperation aimed at reconstruction of the war-torn Afghanistan. 
    Kharrazi, too, announced the Islamic Republic of Iran's full readiness to cooperate in the process of the establishment of a broad-based government there, ensuring the return of peace and stability in the framework of the efforts made by the United Nations in this regard. 
    The Iranian foreign minister, too, asked for global cooperation in reconstruction of Afghanistan that has been witness to over two decades of war and bloodshed.
