Nejadhosseinian dismissed Israeli distorted version of Rafsanjani's statements on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
Nejadhosseinian said that Ayatollah Rafsanjani in his sermon to the Friday prayers had given a warning against dragging the world to a possible Third War due to the western states' full support for Israel to gain access to weapons of mass destruction.
"Ayatollah Rafsanjani urged the western states not to continue with their biased policy toward Israel in the international resolve to disarmament. Rafsanjani offered an analytical assessment that if one day the Muslim world were equipped with the weapons currently available to Israel, the arrogance strategy will face a deadlock. Iran does not welcome such a scenario," Nejadhosseinian said.
Nejadhosseinian said that the hypocritic regime of Israel has manipulated Rafsanjani's statement as a threat to the international peace to divert the world public opinion from the Israeli state terrorism.
Nejadhosseinian said that Ayatollah Rafsanjani's latest statement on January 6 denouncing the proliferation and stockpiling of weapons of mass destruction clarified Iran's longstanding position toward the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
He said that the fact is that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a signatory to the international conventions on Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and non-proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological arms while the racist regime of Israel has not signed those treaties.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran likes to make the Middle East a region free from weapons of mass destruction," he said.
