Tehran, Feb 20, IRNA -- Iran on Wednesday expressed "disgust" and strongly lambasted the racist Israeli regime's pre-dawn attack by air and sea, which have led to the death of at least 15 Palestinians so far.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hamidreza Asefi, expressed concern over the ongoing Israeli suppression of the Palestinians and reiterated the Islamic Republic's support for the "legitimate demands" of the Palestinian people.
"The Zionist regime is violating international conventions by overlooking the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people and continuing with its massacre of the shelterless Palestinian people in the wake of the current global situation," he said.
"The Israeli regime, by resorting to peripheral issues and fabrications, is under the illusion that it could divert the world public opinion from the ongoing realities in the occupied Palestinian lands and push ahead its expansionist ambitions," Asefi said.
The FM spokesman's remarks were in an implicit reference to recent Israeli claims that its army had intercepted a shipload of arms, intended for Palestinians.
