The second anniversary of the intifada is coinciding with the cruel actions of the Israeli Zionists in the Occupied Lands, he noted while adding that intifada has achieved great victories since it began. Asefi referred to the continuation of the Israeli suppression policy against the Palestinians, the siege imposed by the Zionists forces on the Palestinian-populated neighborhoods and the compound of the Palestinian authorities Leader Yasser Arafat and the violent actions committed by the Israeli troops in the Occupied Lands after he adoption of the the 1435 resolution of the UN Security Council Resolution. He pointed out that Intifada has successfully continued its way over the past two years. Asefi said Washington has been adopting a reticent stand towards the Israeli killings of the Palestinian women and children in many occasions over the past years. He voiced remarks in condemnation of the United States and Israel for their inhuman policies and bullying tactics against the Muslim nations in the Middle East. The United States has witnessed the Israeli killings of the Palestinians without intervening to stop these inhuman actions, he noted. He slammed the zionist regime which has committed the worst crimes against the Palestinians with the backing of the United States. Zionists' and Americans' pressures on the Palestinians are a cover-up of the cruel actions perpetrated against the Muslim palestinian nation, he said. Press reports said thousands of Palestinians held street protests in the Gaza Strip Saturday to mark the second anniversary of their intifada, pledging to continue the uprising. Arafat's mainstream Fatah movement issued a statement Saturday, calling on the Palestinian people to continue its uprising. The colours of radical groups were also much in evidence, as the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed offshoot of Arafat's Fatah, promised the Gaza crowd through loudspeakers to step up its attacks against Israel. |
