Tehran, July 30, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi here on Tuesday refuted as 'sheer lie' some reports that a Hamas official has visited Iran.
He termed the allegation as a "vicious cycle" of the Zionist circles aimed at spreading crisis inside the occupied lands to outside of the borders of occupied Palestine.
The support of the Iranian government and nation for Palestinian is of spiritural, political and humanitarian nature, he said adding that the Zionist circles have always tried to distort and weaken such a humanitarian and Islamic approach which is based on the public demands of the Islamic nations.
Criticizing the recent meeting between the Qatar foreign minister and his Zionist counterpart, Asefi said based on the ratification of the OIC, all OIC member states should avoid any contact with the Zionist regime.
While the Zionist regime in defiance of all international regulations has compltely besieged the Palestinian people and has launched a full-scale war to suffocate the righteous call of the Palestinians, such contacts will not help the Palestinian people at all, he said.
The Zionists try to justify their crimes and repression of the defenseless Palestinians and such contacts can only be interpreted as sympathy with the Zionist regime, he concluded.
