Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA -- Expediency Council Chairman Ali-Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani here Wednesday said the US recent accusations against Iran meant to foment internal differences, whereas they instead closed
ranks of domestic political power camps.
The Americans, he said, completely realized that challenging the Islamic Republic, as they might have anticipated, is not that easy, and said it is not yet clear if their enmity towards Iran has decreased.
He said the US must prove its goodwill as a key to solving Tehran-Washington problems, and stressed that the issue of Iran's frozen assets in the US would be a sign.
"Any dialogue depends on the return of Iran's frozen assets Anything other than this would indicate that the US is still hostile in its attitude to the Islamic Republic," he said.
US President George Bush has over the past weeks repeatedly lumped Iran, Iraq and North Korea as the 'axis of evil' accusing them of trying to develop weapons of mass destruction.
