Tehran, Feb 26, IRNA -- The Association of Iranian Journalists (AIJ) in a statement here Tuesday condemned the murder of the American reporter Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, and called for measures to
provide security for journalists no matter what nationality they have'.
The Iranian journalists voiced sympathy with counterparts elsewhere in the world over what they described as 'the horrible murder of Pearl,' and hoped world leaders would abstain from war and violence to bring a lasting peace for humanity and job security for journalists.
"The abduction and murder of journalists who are struggling for the cause of informing the public of world events is a flagrant violation of all human rights," read the statement.
