Iran condemns Israel's attack against Arafat's PA Headquarters

 
 

 

 
 

 
     
            Tehran, Sept 21, IRNA -- Iran on Saturday night categorically condemned "Israeli forces'" attack against "Palestinian Authority chief, Yasser Arafat's" Ramallah Headquarters, during which a part of "where he resides along with a number of his companions was destroyed.
          The spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Hamidreza Asefi, described the recent "barbaric invasions of the regime of Israel" as he continuation of "the defeated Iran Fist Policy".
          Emphasizing on broad violations of all internationally recognized rules and regulations by Israel, Asefi voiced Iran's concern over he urgent need for the international community's "immediate, practical intervention aimed at halting Israel's vast invasions and criminal acts."
          The foreign ministry spokesman reiterated that Israel is the "root cause of all threats and insecurity in the region," that is "backed unilmitedly by the United States," and constantly keeps violating the "fundamental rights" of the Palestinian nation.
          While warning against Israel's taking advantage of the current world conditions at the service of "prolonging its occupation (of alestinian lands), suppression (of the Palestinian nation), and ignoring the rights (of the Palestinian individuals), Asefi further emphasized, "adoption of such policies by Israel is the root cause of the lingering Middle East crisis, and mounting tension in the region."
          Israel imposed a new blockade of Arafat's compound in the West Bank city of Ramallah after two martyrdom seeking attacks ended six weeks of relative calm in the Middle East, which has been engulfed by almost two years of deadly Israel-Palestinian violence.
          On Saturday, the racist-Zionist regime's tanks were just 10 meters from Arafat's office after the army destroyed every other building in his headquarters, detaining 19 people.
          The occupier regime's public radio, said on Saturday the aim of the siege was to secure surrender of around 20 of Arafat's entourage who Israel claims are linked to militant groups.
