Tehran, July 20, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi on Saturday called for contribution of all countries to the reconstruction of Afghanistan and for serious efforts to restore security in that country. Kharrazi told his German counterpart Joschka Fischer on phone that speedy establishment of Afghan police force and national army would guarantee security in Afghanistan. He stressed collective efforts and exchange of views among regional states to ease tension and crisis in the region. He welcomed regular talks between Iranian and German officials on mutual, regional and international cooperation. Fischer termed Iran's role in regional developments as 'decisive' and said Tehran's stances vis-a-vis Afghan crisis are constructive and positive. Describing regional conditions as 'critical' following the failure of Iraq-UN talks, Fischer underlined the need for continued exchange of views with Iran in that respect. He stressed expansion of Tehran-Berlin cooperation on bilateral, regional and international dimensions. Kharrazi and Fischer had on April 13 talked on phone about the the developments in Palestine. |
