Brussels, Nov 19, IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Kamal Kharrazi met his French counterpart, Dominique de Villepin, in Brussels Monday evening and discussed bilateral French-Iranian ties as well as regional and international developments.
Kharrazi arrived in Brussels Monday on a two-day visit while Villepi Villepin is here to participate in a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
The two ministers reviewed the progress of economic and political relations and cooperation between Paris and Tehran.
They also discussed the current situation in the Middle East, and stressed the necessity of Iraq's comliance with UNSC Resolution 1441 to avoid a new war in the region.
Kharrazi is also scheduled to confer with EU Commissioner for Trade Pascal Lamy, Commissioner for External Relations Chris Patten and Belgian Foreign Minister Louis Michel on Tuesday.
