          Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA -- President Mohammad Khatami said here on Tuesday that the government supports production activities and foreign investment in the free trade-industrial zones.
          In a message, read out at the Second Exhibition of Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones on Tuesday, the president said that the government backs sound production activities and foreign investment in the zones which would guarantee transfer of modern technology, increase job opportunities and serve as a complementary to the national economy.
 		  
 

          He hoped that in light of the facilities available, Special Free Zones would take a lion's share in promoting the national economy by expanding non-oil exports and commercial services using latest information technology.
          He urged directors of the free trade zones to adopt new administrative methods in line with laws and regulations to raise productivity.
          The president said expansion of the free trade zones is one of the strategic pivots of government to develop economic infrastructure.
