Khatami to deliver speech on `Dialogue among Civilizations' in Pakistan |

Islamabad, Dec 14, IRNA - Iranian President Seyed Mohammad Khatami is to deliver a speech here on his concept of `Dialogue among Civilizations' during an upcoming visit to Pakistan. The president will deliver his speech before an audience composed of diplomats, intellectuals, writers and opinion makers at the Institute of Strategic Studies of Islamabad (ISSI) on December 24. It may be recalled that during a speech he delivered at the 53rd session of the United Nations General Assembly the president had proposed `Dialogue among Civilizations' as a means of promoting understanding among countries and resolving issues. His proposal was widely appreciated and the year 2001 was subsequently declared `Year of Dialogue among Civilizations'. The ISSI usually invites foreign dignitaries who visit Pakistan to deliver lectures on key topics. |
