         Tehran, Oct 16, IRNA -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai, during a brief stopover in Tehran on Tuesday, conferred with Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Tahmasb Mazaheri on expansion of their countries' economic cooperation.
         Karzai was on his way home to Kabul from Turkey where he attended the 7th Summit of top officials of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
         The Public Relations Office of the Iranian Ministry of the Economy reported that Karzai and Mazaheri also exchanged views on ways of expanding Iran's cooperation in Afghanistan's reconstruction.
         During the talks, Mazaheri reiterated the Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness to assist in Afghanistan's reconstruction in the areas of electricity, road construction, agriculture (including ways of providing alternatives to poppy production), the anti-drug campaign and other urban programs.
         Praising the high-level of cooperation, karzai announced that Afghan Minister for Economic Affairs Ashraf Ghani will soon visit Tehran to follow up the status of previous agreements.
