Tehran, July 16, IRNA -- The threatening tone of the US against the Palestinian nation and other Muslim states is a pretext for Washington's futile attempts to establish a unipolar system in the world, said Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi in Tunisia on Tuesday.
In a meeting with Tunisian President Zine el Abidine ben Ali, the Iranian foreign minister said that the tone of supremacy and clash of civilizations, especially with the world of Islam, are bound to fail.
He said the righteousness of the Palestinian people is now clear to all and the Zionist Regime cannot suppress them on vain pretexts.
He added that the threatening and distorted literature of the US is glaring example of clash among civilizations which is rejected by the global community.
He called for all-out cooperation between Tehran and Tunisia in line with their mutual interests.
Ben Ali for his part said relations between Iran and Tunisia is to the benefit of all Muslim states.
He said he was looking forward to President Mohammad Khatami's visit to Tunisia.
Deploring the post-September 11th events in the US and attribution of terrorism to Islam, he said that it is the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to engage in struggle and one cannot deprive them of this right.
He hailed Iran's effective role in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the South countries, saying that cooperation with Iran would strengthen South-South relations and upgrade the status of  the OIC.
