Tehran, Oct 14, IRNA - Iran's National Human Rights Committee said on Monday that the Israeli officials have violated international law and should be brought to justice.
In a statement, the human rights committee condemned the Zionist regime's brutality against civilians in the West Bank, Gaza, Nablus and Khan Yunis which took place last week.
It deplored that the Israeli army regularly targets civilians with heavy weapons and called on the international community to take legal action to stop the systematic genocide of defenseless Palestinians.
The statement cited the example of a school in Nablus which was hit by the Israeli army on October 5 killing one and injuring at least 10 school children.
The human rights committee said that coincident with a visit to the Holy Qods by European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Javier Solana on October 6, the Israeli army killed several farmers who were harvesting olive in Palestine.
"The murder of 13 civilians and the wounding of 80 others in the missile attacks by choppers on Khan Yunis is the gross violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention and the protocols later annexed in 1977," the statement said.
"In accordance with notes 50, 51, 130 and 147 of the Geneva Convention and the ban on massacre (genocide) approved in 1948, Israeli officials have violated international law and committed war crimes and should be brought to justice," the human rights committee said.
