Tehran, March 10, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi here on Monday rejected recent allegations by US secretary of state and the national security advisor on Iran's domestic affairs terming such remarks as continuation of US interference in Iran's affairs.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has a democratic system respecting peoples votes, he said adding that the Iranian people are well-aware of the ill-intention of the US which seeks its own interests.
Aggressive words and actions of US officials against Iran's democracy, reveals a new US anti-democratic doctrine to impose its policies over the nations of the region, he pointed out.
"Unfortunately since the extremist took office in US, the world has always been threatened with danger of a war and the unwise US policies have increased insecurity, instability, pessimism and hatred round the globe," Asefi said.
On US allegations on Iran's nuke activities, he underlined that Iran's nuclear activities are very transparent and of peaceful nature and the US snobbish officials by distorting realities aim to weaken
international institutions.
"Iran's nuke activities are in accordance with realities and in our opinion, the US tries to thwart constructive cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," he said.
Peaceful application of atomic energy is the natural and legitimate rights of the Iranian nation to attain economic development in line with scientific progress of the human society and Iran's policy cannot overlook such undeniable right, Asefi said.
US secretary of state has claimed that Iran is conducting clandestine nuclear activities.
