        Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA -- Turkish Prime Minister Abdullah Gul on Sunday held talks with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi on bilateral and regional issues particularly the Iraq crisis.
        Gul expressed pleasure with the growing trend in Iran-Turkey relations and called for developing multi-lateral relations in the framework of Tehran-Ankara Joint Economic Commission.
        Prime Minister Gul said that he held consultations with leaders of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt and Jordan ahead of his visit to Iran to explore ways to resolve the Iraqi crisis and find a way out of the current tension in the region.
        He called for contribution of the nations in the region including Iran to put behind the current situation.
Gul said that Turkey makes every endeavor to prevent the outbreak of a new war in the region and urges Iraq to comply with the United Nations and supports Iraqi territorial integrity at the same time.
        "We've told the US that attack on Iraq will bring uncontrollable consequences in the region," Gul said.
        Kharrazi voiced concern about Iraqi crisis and said that Iran and Turkey have common view about the situation in the region. 
        He said that a new war will bring unexpected consequences for the region adding that Iran opposes outbreak of war in the region.
        Kharrazi said that the Iraqi government should comply with the United Nations to avert possible hostility in the region. 
        He welcomed consultations between the Iraqi neighboring states to help find a way out of the tension.
        Prime Minister Gul arrived in Tehran for a one-day consultations with Iranian officials at the last leg of his Middle East tour which took him to Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan.
        He wound up his Iran visit later in the day and left for home.
