Tehran, May 5, IRNA -- President Mohammad Khatami and Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah on Saturday reviewed the alarming situation in the Middle East.
In a telephone conversation, President Khatami hoped that the Muslim world would fulfil its humanitarian obligations toward the plight of the Palestinians now being exposed to Israeli inhumane practices.
The Saudi crown prince said that cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran is very effective in establishing a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
Despite international protests against Israeli massacre of the defenceless Palestinians, the Zionist regime has stepped up its military operations against Palestinian towns in the West Bank.
Chairman of the disbanded United Nations Fact-Finding Team on Jenin, Martti Ahtisaari, has called for deployment of international forces in the refugee camps to protect the Palestinians from Israeli military actions.
