Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said here on Monday that mobilization of the public, especially the youth, against enemy and of officials to solve economic problems and fight economic plunderers are the two basic needs of the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei told a group of students on the occasion of 13th Aban (November 4) that the enemy tries to dishearten the Iranian nation and the youth so as to impose its will on Iran.
The Leader added that the noble Iranian nation, especially the youth, however, are getting prepared by building up their moral, scientific, psychological and physical capabilities, to hoist the banner of Islam and defend their religion, national dignity and honor.
13th Aban marks anniversary of the take over of the US Embassy in Tehran, dubbed as `Den of Spies', by a group of students following the Imam's line in 1979.
The Supreme Leader said officials should get mobilized to serve the masses. The executive officials should make maximum use of their potential in solving the problems of the public and the three branches of government should take it as their important duty to meet the right demands of the public, that is fighting economic plunderers and eliminating economic corruption, added the Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the main requisite for solving of people's problems is that officials seriously refrain from getting involved in political games, unnecessary and absurd affairs and magnifying minor issues.
The Leader added that the officials should instead concentrate their efforts on main issues, including economic ones, the campaign against the corrupt, preservation of culture and religious morale and launching "a scientific and software movement."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said any differences among officials would be detrimental to the national and public interests.
He said that the Constitution has offered the political setup of the country and everybody's duty is clear. So, he added, officials should fulfill their duties, while maintaining unanimity of words.
Ayatollah Khamenei instructed officials not to fear the enemy.
Of course, the Leader said, senior Iranian officials are not scared by the enemy and through reliance on God Almighty, they fully believe in the the power of people's faith, which defeated the global arrogance during Islamic Revolution in 1979.
There might be however certain people here and there, who might be scared by the enemy and this is very harmful and destructive," the Leader said.
Americans have tried all ploys against the Iranian nation but to no avail, the Leader said, adding that the US attack on another country would impose a heavy and intolerable financial burden on the Americans.
The US would not take the risk of military attack on a country where there is a possibility of its nation's resistance and would instead try to impose its wishes and will through intimidation and political and media hue and cry, added the Ayatollah.
The US tries to prevent officials from meeting the true demands and aspirations of people, the Leader said, adding that the enemy tries to cause rift between people and officials and insinuate pessimism among them.
The Leader said the US tries to undermine people's beliefs and their very basic motives. "They try to kill hope and enthusiasm among people, especially the youth, and to weaken the might of the nation against enemies of the system and the country," he added.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also accused the US of attempting to portray the Iranian nation as a disheartened nation through propaganda ballyhoos and false theories, formulated by their agents.
The Leader also cautioned against the enemy's attempts to create ethnic, religious, factional and political rifts in line with its policy of dividing the public. He added that the enemy raises diversionary issues, undermines certain officials and superficially defends some of them, in a bid to divide them but all these ploys are doomed to failure provided that the public and the officials maintain their vigilance and fulfill their duties.
Referring to approach of the holy fasting month of Ramadhan, the Leader expressed hope that the Iranian nation would show to the world on the last Friday of the holy month, marked as the World Qods Day, that they defend the oppressed Palestinian nation.
