        Tehran, Aug 5, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi here on Monday refuted as 'baseless' claims that Saddam's youngest son, Qusay had visited Tehran recently and held meetings with  several Iranian officials as "baseless".
        Addressing a press conference, he said the recent visit to Iraq by head of Women's Sports Federation of the Islamic countries and deputy head of Iran's National Olympic Committee, Faezeh Hashemi, has taken place within the framework of bilateral sports cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
        The Islamic Republic of Iran has not cut off its all-out relations with Iraq, he announced adding that economic, trade and cultural contacts between the two states are going on including visit of Iranian pilgrims to the holy shrines in Iraq, cultural heritage and the historical monuments, as per the remaining articles  of the Resolution 598.
        Turning to the recent visit to Tehran of the Saudi foreign minister and the current trip of the Omani FM to Iran, Asefi termed the outcome of both visits as positive.
        All the three countries expressed their concern over escalation of conflicts in the Palestinian occupied lands and suppression of the civilians by the Zionist forces, he said underlining the need for efforts to be made by Muslim countries to impose arms embargo on the Tel Aviv regime as the first step towards cessation of massacre of defenseless people of Palestine.
        As to the military exercises of the Russian forces in the Caspian Sea, Asefi said Iran will take part in the maneuver as an observer country.
