        Bonn, Dec 2, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi in Bonn on Monday held talks with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tehran-Kabul relations and restoration of the Hirmand River flow from Afghanistan to Iran.
        President Karzai extended his greetings to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Mohammad Khatami and appreciated the attention being paid by the Iranian leadership to help resolve the problems of the Afghan people.
        Karzai said that the Afghan government honors its commitment to Iran on free flow of Hirmand River adding that the reduction in volume of the river is due to the drought in Afghanistan.
        The Afghan president said that he would follow up the case and would help resolve the problem.
        Kharrazi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is keen on stability in Afghanistan and would take part in reconstruction and development projects of Afghanistan.
        Kharrazi and President Karzai exchanged views on Afghan security and establishment of Afghan national army and the reconstruction drive.
        In the meantime, Kharrazi held separate talks with United Nations Special Envoy in Afghanistan Lakhdar Brahimi on the latest developments in Afghanistan.
        Brahimi appreciated Iran's special attention to peace and security in Afghanistan.
        Kharrazi said that establishment of security and stability in Afghanistan is the major topic to which the international community should give priority.
