The Iran embassy in Brussels is accredited to the EC. The Council of the European Union agreed in June 2002 to open negotiations with Iran which would cover political aspects as well as a trade and co-operation agreement. This Agreement should, once concluded, put IranĀ“s trade and co-operation relations with the European Union on a contractual basis.
