اخیرا برخی مقامات بریتانیایی اتهامات بی پایه و اساسی علیه جمهوری اسلامی ایران در ارتباط با حوادث سوریه مطرح نموده اند . سفارت جمهوری اسلامی ایران در لندن این اظهارات بی مورد را شدیدا محکوم و اتهامات نادرستی که با هدف تخریب چهره مردمی ایران در منطقه مطرح شده است را قویا رد می نماید.

جمهوری اسلامی ایران بر این باور است  که ملت های منطقه بدنبال نیل به مردم سالاری بدون هرگونه دخالت خارجی می باشند لذا پیروی از استانداردهای دوگانه در برخورد با آرمان های دمکراتیک در کشورهای منطقه در مقابل مطالبات مشروع مردم این کشورها می باشد.

روشن است که دخالت سیاسی و نظامی در این حوادث منجر به انجراف کشیده شدن یا سرکوب جنبش های منطقه خواهد شد. باید در نظر داشت که بر اساس شواهد متقن که بخشی از آن در رسانه های بریتانیایی نیز انعکاس یافته است ، برخی کشورهای غربی اقدام به ارایه تجهیزات لجستیک و آموزش نیروهای حاکمان مستبد نموده اند تا آنها را قادر به سرکوب خیزش ها نماید. تاکید بر حوادث در یک کشور و نادیده انگاشتن سرکوب خیزش های مردمی در سایر کشورها نمونه هایی از توسل به استانداردهای دوگانه در برخورد با تحولات منطقه می باشد.

Recently, some of the British officials have made unfounded and baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran concerning the incidents in Syria. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns these inappropriate remarks and denies firmly these untrue allegations which aim to tarnish Iran’s popular image in the region. 

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that nations in the region seek to establish democracy without any foreign intervention; therefore, having double-standards in dealing with democratic wishes in the countries of the region is against legitimate ambitions of their people. It is clear that political and military intervention in these incidents would cause misleading or crackdown of the movements in the region.

It should be kept in mind that according to credible evidence, part of which has been released in British media, some western states have provided the tyrannous rulers in the region with logistical equipment and training to enable them to curb the uprisings. Emphasizing incidents in one country and ignoring the crackdown of uprisings in other countries are instances of resorting to double-standards regarding the developments in the region.
