Speaking in an interview with Al Alam network, Larijani pointed to the US accusations about Iran´s involvement in a terrorist plot to assassinate Saudi envoy to Washington, and stated, "The Islamic Revolution is essentially against these methods, nobody believes what they are saying. They are doing a cheap work and intend to create discord in the region."
Larijani said, "There are wise people in Saudi Arabia who realize that the texture of this work (the US accusation against Iran) is a counterfeit, yet we have clear explanations anyway."
"Expert people in the international arena are not scare and they can assess the value of such political moves," he added.
"But care must be taken, anyway, because when America realizes that it cannot obtain its desirable result, it starts thinking of sowing discord among Islamic countries," Larijani.
He added that Iran and Saudi Arabia may disagree on a number of regional issues, but they are not hostile to each other, and mentioned, "Two brothers in the same family may have disagreements."
"We will explain our logic in different meetings to be attended by our Arab friends or Arab states. We would also hold talks with the Saudis if an occasion arises," Larijani stated.
Earlier this month, Saudi Ambassador to Tehran Osama Bin Ahmad Al-Sanosi dismissed the western media reports alleging that Riyadh has accepted the US accusations against Iran, and stressed that "we will not allow enemies to misuse" the occasion.
Sanosi made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Tehran, where he underlined his country´s enthusiasm for the further development of ties with Iran.
He referred to the official stance of the Saudi foreign ministry on the issue, and said, "Based on this stance, no country has been accused and the official position of Riyadh will be announced after the completion of investigations."
End.
