Speaking to Iran´s state-run TV, Mehman-Parast said the US decided to pull out its troops from Iraq due to the resistance and opposition of the country´s people, government and religious authorities, otherwise it would never retreat from Iraq and the region.
He said the US persistently tries to create tension in various world regions in a bid to pave the ground for its presence in those region, and it invaded Afghanistan and Iraq under the pretext of war on terrorism to the same end and could remain in the region for around 10 years.
"After the decomposition of the former Soviet Union, Americans considered themselves as the centerpiece of hegemony and strove to become the master of the world due to the same illusion.
"They describe anyone who is opposing them as a violator of democracy and a supporter of terrorism and they encounter liberation movements and popular revolutions through sanctions, pressure, war and scattering lies," he added.
Mehman-Parast further noted the recent US accusation that Tehran plotted to kill a Saudi envoy to Washington, and said, "The United States is after no goal but stirring tension among the regional countries to pave the ground for its intensified and more effective presence, and it is trying to distract the attention of the world public opinion from its domestic conditions and harness the growth and spread of the waves of Islamic awakening in the Middle-East and North Africa which have toppled the US-dependent rulers through any means and plot."
But, they are forced out of the region, because they have no place to stay, he said.
"If the US could deploy its troops in several parts of the world, it would not withdraw from Iraq."
"But now it has no more room to continue its presence neither in Iraq, nor in the entire region due to the growing spread of Islamic awakening among nations," he added.
End.
