Iran´s foreign ministry spokesman says despite Western conspiracies to obstruct Tehran´s path to progress the country will continue its peaceful nuclear activities.
“Our peaceful nuclear activities are favorably running their natural course, despite Western plots and opposition,” Ramin Mehmanparast said in a statement on Friday.
Tehran has repeatedly criticized the US and its Western allies for their false accusations aimed at undermining Iran´s nuclear breakthroughs and scientific achievements.
Iran argues that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has every right to utilize nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
The foreign ministry spokesman criticized the West´s double standard approach towards the developments in the Middle East and North of Africa, saying that such developments upset the balance of US and Israeli equations.
Mehmanparast also questioned why the West military intervened in one country and remained silent on the repression of popular protest in other countries such as Yemen and Bahrain
The statement also announced the resumption of activities by Iran´s ambassador to Libya on Tuesday, following a phone conversation between Iran´s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and the Head of Libya´s National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdul Jalil.
