IKCO to manufacture luxury Samand in Senegal

Iran-Senegal-Samand
Establishment of a plant to manufacture Samand sedan in Senegal will provide an opportunity to introduce Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) capabilities in Africa, Senegalese ambassador to Iran said here on Tuesday.

IKCO’s Public Relation Department quoted Isaake Mbeki as saying that Senegalese organizations have created grounds for establishing Samand manufacturing plant, adding, the factory will become operational in the near future.

He further stated that Senegal enjoys suitable location in western Africa, therefore, the country is able to become a gateway for Samand’s entry into other African countries.

Senegalese ambassador to Tehran emphasized that the IKCO, given its beneficial experiences in planning and producing new models of Samand, can gain a firm place in the markets of western African countries.

In accordance with the scheduled programs, construction operation of Samand factory is due to be launched in Dakar, the capital of Senegal in the Iranian month of Aban (October 23-November 22, 2006), he noted.
