Iranian artist to make judgment at 2nd Dushanbe int’l Film Festival

Iranian cinematographer, Simin Motamed, is among five other international jury members named to judge the second International Film Festival in the Tajik capital of Dushanbe.

Other members of jury are from Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Armenia and Uzbekistan.

The second International Film Festival called `Didori Dushanbe’ will open on October 26 and continue up to October 30.

Movies from Central Asian states, Afghanistan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran and other countries will be screened at the upcoming festival.

The first International Film Festival in Dushanbe organized jointly by Tajikistan’s Cinema House and Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf was held two years ago.

Makhmalbaf is the honorary head of Didori Dushanbe Film Festival.

The event is organized by the government of Tajikistan and the Tajik branch of Open Society Institute, Assistance Foundation.

On the sidelines of the festival, roundtable meetings and workshops will be held for Tajik cinematographers and TV journalists.
