Gore slams Bush’s environmental policies

Germany-US-Gore
Former US vice president Al Gore who is in Germany to present his global-warming documentary titled ’An Inconvenient Truth’, lashed out at the environmental policies of American President George W. Bush, the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported Tuesday.

America should have used the billion of dollars for the Iraq war, to invest in climate protection and energy research, said Gore, adding this would have lessened US dependency on oil and would have made the country safer.

"This would have been better than to attack a country which did not attack us," Gore said.

He voiced hope the next US administration would support the Kyoto Protocol.
