Iraqi Al-Qaeda terror suspect arrested in northwestern Germany

Germany-Terrorism-Al-Qaeda
An Iraqi national, suspected of being a member of the Al-Qaeda network, has been arrested near the northwest German city of Osnabrueck, news reports quoted the federal prosecutor’s office as saying on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old suspect, Ibrahim R, is accused of having distributed video and audio recordings on the Internet from Osama bin Laden and other top Al-Qaeda leaders, prosecutors added.

An arrest warrant for Ibrahim R had already been issued on September 28.

Al-Qaeda terrorists used Germany as their logistic base after the devastating September 11, 2001 kamikaze attacks in the US.

German laws prohibit any kind of support for terrorist groups.
