Elham: Iran against nuclear weapons, for nuclear disarmament

Iran-NKorea-Nuclear-Elham
Government spokesman Gholam-Hossein Elham said here Tuesday that Iran has time and again voiced its opposition to the production of nuclear weapons and called for nuclear disarmament.

His remarks came as he talked to reporters during his weekly press conference in which he was asked to comment on North Korea’s nuclear test Monday.

"Big powers with hegemonic ambitions should begin nuclear disarmament at home."
"In the Middle East, nuclear disarmament should begin with the Zionist regime," the spokesman said.

"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should pave the way for all countries to enjoy their right to develop and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes," he added.

He stressed that the Islamic Republic’s ideological foundation is definitely against production of nuclear weapons.
