Over the recent decades, the use of concrete in the construction of various structures such as residential, commercial and industrial buildings, towers, water reservoirs, dams, walls, shells, storage, buildes, silos, chimnies, tunnels, piers, shelters, road and airport pavements, etc. has been disseminated due to its strength, desirable durability, abundance and relative low cost of its material. This fact necessitates a deep knowledge and understanding of the specifications and behaviour of the material, construction techniques, production technology and design procedures for the researchers and civil engineers. The third national conference on concrete will be held in Tehran in spring 2000 as a venue for discussion of the latest research works and for exchange of views amongst the participating researchers and engineers.

The Civil Engineering Department of Amirkabir University of Technology and Bureau of Technical Affairs and Establishment of Standards of Plan and Budget Organization are the co-sponsors of the conference.
In order to cover all the subjects related to concrete and reinforced concrete, papers are requested in the following areas:

Concrete constituents (aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures) .
Special concretes: high performance, fiber reinforced, polymer, roller compacted, sulphur, light weight concrete, etc.
Concrete suitable for special conditions (hot and corrosive, cold weather, marine environment, etc).
Concrete and sustainable development (utilization of waste materials and recycled aggregates in concrete as well as reduction of pollution associated with production of cement and concrete) .

Analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures and elements.

Assessment of national and international standards and specifications.

Prestressed and precast concretes.
Special concrete structures (bridge, tunnel, Pier, silo, . . . )
Materials and methods of formworking.
Evaluation of the behaviour of reinforced concrete structures in earthquakes.
Non-linear behaviour of concrete structures,
non-linear methods of analysis and design. Softwares for analysis and design of concrete structures.
Quality control and testing of concrete structures using non - destructive methods.
Repair, strengthening and maintenance of concrete structures.
